Overview of facilities

Izunokuni Panorama Park sits at the gateway to Izu Peninsula in Izu Nagaoka, a famous area for hot springs and for the Nirayama Reverberatory Furnaces, which has been registered as a World Cultural Heritage, making it an ideal spot for sightseeing in Izu. Take the cable car up and be amazed by the spectacular panoramic view of Mount Fuji, Suruga Bay and Hakone. Seasonal flowers make the scene all the more idyllic. Fujimi Terrace on the top of the mountain offers a place to sit and relax, while Panorama Dining at the foot of the mountain lets you savor the best of Izu.

Fujimi Terrace

Designed in Japanese style, Fujimi Terrace offers a variety of views from its different areas, such as the sofa area, the stone area and the observation deck. The super cozy feel to the terrace makes it perfect for a meal or cup of tea while taking in the spectacular views of Mount Fuji and Suruga Bay.

Ropeway

The ropeway runs for 1,800m and takes seven minutes to reach the summit following a climb of 452m. As you get close to the top, Mount Fuji and the Izu Nagaoka hot springs area come into view.

Sky Garden

Sky Garden at the top of the mountain and accessible by ropeway greets visitors with an array of different flowers and vistas each season. The Fujimi no Ashiyu footbath inside the garden is free to enjoy while other facilities include more athletic type activities, Katsuragi Shrine and Hyakutai Jizouson (100 Statues of Jizo Buddha), which has occupied this spot since the Kamakura Period.

Restaurants

The Panorama Dining restaurant at the foot of the mountain serves the Izu no Shun-sai Buffet with the exceptional dishes of Izu and Shizuoka. Visitors can feast on some 50 different dishes including delicious local cuisines such as Fujinomiya yakisoba noodles, fried local vegetables and kuro hanpen fish cakes, as well as handmade culinary creations.

Katsuragi Saryo on Fujimi Terrace at the mountaintop has a relaxed Japanese-style interior as well as an adjoining deck to enjoy the vista and serves superb udon, soba, Japanese sweets and drinks.

At the Panorama Café at the foot of the mountain visitors are greeted with traditional Izunokuni ornaments like a branch decorated with cocoon-shaped rice cakes and beautiful dolls hanging on a thread. The café offers delicious foods such as pasta, curry and Japanese sweets.

Shopping

Museum Shop Sky is located at the top of the mountain and sells original goods from Fujimi Terrace, small objects with a Mount Fuji theme and unique handmade crafts by local artisans.

Located at the base of the mountain, Izu no Shun-sai Market has a large array of original goods such as Izu’s famous confectioneries, local fruits and vegetables and locally brewed sake. The spacious design spread over the first and second floors means you can shop at your own leisure.

Four seasons at Panorama Park

Some 35,000 azalea color the mountaintop from the middle of April to early May every year and there is a festival to celebrate the event. The beautiful autumn colors add a beautiful touch to the summit from the end of November to the start of December. We recommend taking a stroll along the boardwalk that can be accessed by any path from Fujimi Terrace to enjoy the colors.
